Tacloban City –The Philippine Statistics Authority is encouraging the public to get their civil documents via online to reduce the long line up in their office in Tacloban City.

According to National Statistician and Civil Registrar General of Philippine Statistics Authority Dr. Lisa Grace S. Bersales, some office of the PSA will be open on Saturdays to accommodate the public who are getting their civil documents.

But based on their assessment, the office of the PSA here in Tacloban need not be open on Saturdays, yet they open as early as 7:00 o’clock in the morning to accommodate the applicants.

A regular applicant has an average of 2-3 hours of waiting in the office of the PSA before he or she gets her civil document.

To reduce the pain of waiting and waste of time Bersales encourages the public to go online at e-census and pay an amount at some accredited Bayad Centers nationwide and that also requires courier service.

The PSA accommodates 75,000 clients per day nationwide. They will open more outlets soon as they fill up the 800 vacant positions nationwide. ###
